Alba, a brainchild of MetaFoodies Hospitality Group, will open its doors next month.
A new fusion cuisine concept is in the works, and it’s set to debut at Dubai Opera Plaza next month: Alba. Described as an exquisite Pan-Asian restaurant with a European flair, it is the brainchild of MetaFoodies Hospitality Group — but more on that later. We’re told that the new venue will skilfully blend the comfort of street food with a gastronomic European touch, harking back to the historical encounter of East meeting West in the 19th century.
The dining space has been expertly designed by award-winning architect Tristan Du Plessis, collectively accommodating a groovy vibe, trendy music, and a show kitchen for live cooking, thereby creating an atmosphere that seamlessly marries European elegance with elements inspired by Asian culture and philosophy. On the menu are traditional flavours from South Korea, Japan and China blended with modern European cooking techniques, reflecting the long-standing cultural exchange between East and West.

This culinary journey is guided by renowned Brand Chef Vladimir Chistyakov and chef Minho Ted Shin. Signature dishes will include Caviar and Uni, each served with crispy seaweed, adding a delightful crunch to each bite. The Beef Yuk-hwe, meanwhile, is a luxurious blend of Uni, Truffle, and Caviar. As for the Wagyu Maki served with delicious foie gras? A must-try for all foodies.
At the heart of Alba’s one-of-a-kind bar concept that brings together a rich tapestry of Asian ingredients, traditional brewing techniques, and the mystique of Asian wildlife. Its Sake Sanctuary will boast an extensive selection sourced from renowned breweries across Japan, ranging from delicate Junmai Daiginjo to the Umami taste of Honjozo.
Additionally, the venue unveils a secret authentic space featuring a special tea ceremony, adding a layer of cultural richness to the dining experience. Elsewhere, Alba’s Cocktail Card is a tribute to the Asian mythical creatures and legends. Guests can expect an incredible selection of one-of-a-kind cocktails and mocktails featuring vibrant colours, exotic garnishes, and unexpected flavour combinations, each crafted with creativity and precision.
For the uninitiated, Metafoodies is a homegrown hospitality group that’s dedicated to bringing a dining experience with a personal touch to food enthusiasts around the world, with community and joy at the heart of its concepts. Incidentally, it’s also the group behind the upcoming Bisou, a new fine dining venue that combines French classics with a Middle Eastern twist. Bisou is also set to open at Dubai Opera Plaza next month.
