Suppose you’re a brunch lover that loves trying unconventional experiences. In that case, you’ll be thrilled to know that Taiko, the contemporary Asian restaurant and bar located in Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk, has announced the launch of its new Taiko Brunch.
Launching on Saturday 19 February 2022, brunch-goers can enjoy a vibrant social atmosphere and embark on a culinary journey along the ancient Silk Road, taking in flavours and textures from Asia and the Middle East.
Executive Chef, Schilo van Coevorden’s contemporary Asian menu is fused with local, seasonal produce to create a unique dining experience. The five-course rotating set-menu comprises over 15 dishes, including Hiromasa King Fish Sashimi, Steak Tartare Bo Ssam, Rock Oysters with Passion Fruit Mignonette, Black Garlic Hummus and Kimchi Melon. Lamb and Date Gyoza, Shisha Sushi, Black Cod and Taiko Biryani further add to the excitement, with a sweet ending of Mango Sticky rice and rich Chocolate Structures with Wasabi Stone and Chocolate Sorbet.

Set amongst a dramatic ambience, Taiko features a mesmerising show kitchen that revolves around a char-fired robata grill and a live sushi bar. Counter elements across the venue are finished with black pebbles sourced from ancient riverbeds in China, shaped into fluid forms and rounded shapes that symbolise eternity and ethereal balance in Asian culture.
The Taiko Brunch is available on Saturdays, from 4pm to 7pm. AED 355 (soft beverage), AED 495 (house beverages) and AED 750 (Champagne).
