SOON Nobby x True Izakaya is located in Armada Tower 2.
Inspired by Japanese gaming culture, cyberpunk, and 1980s aesthetics, SOON pays homage to Tokyo izakaya’s while adding a contemporary twist. SOON Nobby x True Izakaya aims to create a new and unique destination for foodies, party-goers, and cocktail lovers in the heart of modern Dubai. Combining authentic Japanese cuisine with neoteric pop culture, SOON pays homage to the 1980s anime and gaming culture, creating a futuristic and playful atmosphere. The contemporary decor is fused with provocative details such as the Ahegao-style graphic floor and robot Tō Kōtei made of old Japanese electronics.
The venue is split into six zones, offering secluded dinners, street food-style sushi counters, and bustling parties. Meanwhile, the Sento room, which opens in September, will be a place for karaoke away from prying eyes.
Chef Brian Hoang has created the food menu for SOON. The menu emphasises Japanese classics but also supports worldwide food trends. The menu highlights umami flavour with dishes such as House Tofu & Tomato Salad, Aged Shima Aji, Saikyo Miso Black Cod, and Wagyu Beef Mazesoba.
Head Bartender Dima Olenin has curated the beverage program and draws inspiration from Japanese cities, anime stories, and the 1980s cyberpunk aesthetic. The beverage menu includes Japanese draft beers, various sours, chūhai, an extensive menu of cold and warm saké, and shōchū.
This new modern izakaya promises to take every guest on a cultural journey. We can’t wait to check it out.
