This Dubai restaurant is ranked among The World’s 50 Best

Trèsind Studio

Ranked No.13, Trèsind Studio has been lauded for its nuanced yet approachable exploration of India’s culinary heritage.

It’ll be yet another busy season at Trèsind Studio as the restaurant returns to the global spotlight yet again, this time for its place in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants ranking. Taking the No.13 spot among dining destinations from Bangkok (Gaggan), Buenos Aires (Don Julio), London (Kol), and Tokyo (Florilège), the intimate eatery seats only 20 and is located at St. Regis Gardens on Palm Jumeirah.

“What a phenomenal journey it has been so far, and a long way ahead,” said Chef Himanshu Saini and his team of the honour. “We take this moment to pause, reflect and celebrate. To be awarded The Best Restaurant in the Middle East, 2024, and ranked No.13, is indeed a moment of pride. We couldn’t be happier to represent India and the United Arab Emirates at the prestigious The World’s 50 Best Restaurants.”

Famed for its contemporary interpretation of India’s rich and diverse cultural, agricultural and religious heritage, Trèsind Studio challenges common perceptions of Indian cuisine by showcasing an array of flavours, both new and familiar, through a highly innovative lens. The humblest of ingredients are not only sourced locally from organic and sustainable farmers in the UAE, but also transformed and amplified in a way unseen elsewhere in Dubai’s dining scene.

Trèsind Studio, incidentally, is the only restaurant in Dubai on this year’s top 50 list, but Orfali Bros Bistro has earned the No.64 spot, marking its second consecutive year of recognition thanks to a menu that defies categorisation. Here, Syrian staples merge with pan-regional favourites, while European culinary tropes are crafted using Asian ingredients as the three Orfali brothers from Aleppo, Syria, constantly push the boundaries of cooking to incorporate new flavours and sensations into their concoctions.

Over in Barcelona, Spain, it’s also a trio hard at work at Disfrutar, which took the highly coveted No.1 spot. The restaurant is owned and run by chefs Oriol Castro, Eduard Xatruch, and Mateu Casañas who met during their tenure at the legendary El Bulli. “For sure, Disfrutar is influenced by and pays homage to its prestigious forebear, but it has also written its own culinary language — one that mixes the playful with the profound, the deliberately discombobulating with the downright delicious,” say the experts at 50 Best.
