Celebrate Ramadan in the Abu Dhabi desert with flavours of the Levant served amid the sand dunes.
An endless expanse of Arabian sky, the skyline punctuated by palm trees and majestic sand dunes, provides a truly magical backdrop to a Ramadan feast at Al Falaj. Nestled in the desert just outside of Abu Dhabi, Al Falaj is a Bedouin-style dining destination of note and part of the Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara.
To mark Ramadan, guests are invited to dine under the stars with flavours of the Middle East served al fresco, to a beguiling soundscape of traditional Oud music.
Open-air dining with a mezze feast, meats and classic sweets

The contemporary Al-Falaj Iftar menu is priced from AED 450 per person. Diners can expect a culinary adventure through the flavours of the Middle East. To break the fast and begin the meal, a selection of hot and cold mezze is served. Small dishes include fragrant basil hummus, with an irresistible za’atar pesto and truffle, traditional kibbeh made from lean ground meats and bulgur wheat, a herbaceous fregola mushroom tabbouleh and crispy cheese sambuusa.
The main event is a spit roast, cooked in the Moroccan style, or selection of smoky grilled meats and seafood. To end the meal, a tempting medley of deserts including tarts, fresh fruits, nuts and sticky, sweet Turkish baklava provides is sure to prove difficult to resist.
A limited-edition menu will be served on 07 and 08 March
On 07 and 08 March, diners can choose to upgrade their experience to a set menu created by the acclaimed Chef Maroun Chedid. Chef Maroun’s Iftar is priced at AED 450 and showcases local flavours and seasonal produce.

Dine before dawn with an exceptional Suhoor offering
For those who wish to dine before dawn, Al Falaj has also curated two distinctive Suhoor menus. The Light Suhoor Set is priced at AED 195 and as the name suggests features a lighter menu. Highlights include a fresh Greek yogurt served with berries, homemade breads and assorted cold mezze.
For those seeking a more filling meal, the Bountiful Suhoor Set is AED 345 and includes both surf and turf. Meats include lamb chop, beef kofta and a skewered chicken shish tawook while the ‘surf’ component includes sea bass and tiger prawns.
