Swifties everywhere will tell you that Taylor Swift’s ongoing Eras tour is a big deal. Remember when Lee Hsien Loong set aside his prime ministerial duties to defend the agreement that prevents the mega popstar from performing in any Southeast Asian country besides Singapore? Unfortunately, the GCC was never on the schedule either, leading to a frenzy of excitement when the next best thing was announced — a themed brunch.
Sure, it won’t compare with the global pop culture spectacle created by this object of obsession and her sparkly outfits, but it’s a great way to pay tribute nonetheless. Brought to Dubai and Abu Dhabi by Design & Dine, the Taylor Swift brunch will feature a Swiftie-themed menu, two hours of unlimited cocktails inspired by Taylor Swift and, of course, a DJ playing all of the pop queen’s biggest hits. The event is also sure to be a hit with art enthusiasts, amateurs and otherwise, as a themed painting session is also in the works. You’ll want to dress like you’re headed to a Taylor Swift concert, too. We’re told that prizes will be distributed for the best outfits, so remember to reach for a sequined number or blazer dress (or a couple of friendship bracelets at the very least).
Dubai-based fans can book the brunch taking place at Papa Dubai at V Hotel on Friday, 6 September from 7pm to 10pm. As for Swifties across Abu Dhabi? Your turn will follow the next day as the event takes over Amerigos at Park Inn Hotel on Yas Island. Self-proclaimed non-fans, meanwhile, can look into the other art workshops and wellness retreats hosted by Design & Dine. Founded by award-winning artist Gemma Gallagher, it was created as a way to merge painting, dining and feel-good music into a fun, creative experience. No prep nor experience is necessary to attend Design & Dine events, but in this case, you might want to brush up on some lyrics by playing The Tortured Poets Department on repeat.
