Five reasons to spend the festive season at Oak Room

Oak Room

DSCVR Partnership: The Abu Dhabi EDITION’s steakhouse will infuse the festivities with its signature rock ‘n’ roll flair.

Our partiality for Oak Room is no secret. For the uninitiated, acclaimed chef Tom Aikens is behind this renowned restaurant at The Abu Dhabi EDITION, which features photos of rock bands on the walls and British culinary classics on the menu. Now, Oak Room is hosting guests over the holiday season, complete with a festive menu and year-end celebrations. Here are five offerings to look forward to.

Festive Menu

Served Monday to Saturday throughout the month of December, a delightfully curated set menu features the very best cuts and seasonal ingredients including English Crab with Tomato Tart, Pickle Cucumber and Basil Mayonnaise for starters and Wagyu Beef and Turkey, Wagyu Tenderloin, Turkey Leg Roulade for the main event. And because Christmas dinner would be incomplete without Mince Pie for dessert, the three-course menu wraps up on a sweet note, accented by free-flowing beverages. Available by reservation only for a minimum of four guests, the festive menu is served from 6:30pm to 11:30pm. Prices start at AED 295, inclusive of soft drinks.

Christmas Eve

Uncomplicated in approach, a seated menu of signature British dishes, paired with a robust beverage selection – think Espresso Martinis and Christmas Cognac – awaits at a festive brunch from 6:30pm to 11:30pm. Start with the signature Oak Room Sourdough and Marmite butter before indulging in a range of shared starters. A British cheese selection and array of Port pairings completes this indulgent experience. The brunch starts at AED 365, inclusive of soft drinks. À la carte options will also be available.

Christmas Day

An elevated Oak Room Brunch with a touch of festive flair will be served from 12.30pm to 5pm on Christmas Day, treating diners to a seated menu of signature British dishes made using the finest quality seasonal produce. Begin with signature Oak Room Sourdough and Marmite butter before tucking into starters like Foie Gras Torchon, Raspberry Coulis, Pears and Brioche plus a choice of roasted mains such as Roast Beef Sirloin, Lamb Pie, and Turkey served with all the trimmings. Next up is a decadent trolley selection of British Cheese and a range of six Ports. Finish with dessert, including mince pies and flambéed Christmas Pudding served to share. The brunch starts at AED 365, inclusive of soft drinks.

New Year’s Eve

Leave it to Oak Room to ring in 2023 with British rock ‘n’ roll flair and a touch of excess. To begin, bubbles and canapés will be served in the Oak Room Bar, followed by a decadent five-course dinner in Oak Room including Scallop Crudo and Lobster Thermidor Tart to start and Wagyu Beef Wellington and Red Mullet as the mains. Alongside this menu, which was curated by Tom Aikens itself, will be live entertainment and the finest mixology to get the celebration going. Kicking off at 8pm, the New Year’s Eve package starts at AED 595 (including soft beverages) and goes up to AED 795 (Champagne and Premium Wines included).

New Year’s Day

Oak Room’s Recovery Roast promises to be perfect for the first day of the year. A leisurely affair, this brunch invites guests to linger as it will be served from 12:30pm to 5pm. You can expect a seated menu of signature British dishes, a robust paired beverage selection, as well as Espresso Martinis and Port. Start with signature Oak Room Sourdough with Marmite Butter and an array of shared starters, choose your main course served with all the sides, and end on a sweet note thanks to shared desserts and an indulgent cheese selection. The New Year’s Day brunch starts at AED 245, inclusive of soft beverages.
