Twin brothers James and Oliver Phelps are the latest names to join the star-studded line-up in Abu Dhabi.
It’s T-minus 30 days until the region’s biggest pop culture event – the Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC) – returns to Abu Dhabi, and the names of stars confirmed to attend are still rolling in. Twin brothers James and Oliver Phelps of Harry Potter fame will join the convention, which will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from 9 to 11 February.
Famed for playing the Weasley twins, Fred and George, in the film adaptations of the Harry Potter book series by J.K. Rowling, they will make appearances on Saturday, 10 February and Sunday, 11 February. The actors rose to fame after their memorable performance in the film series, roles that they famously earned after skipping school to audition for the first film in the franchise. The Phelps brothers have become popular with fans throughout the franchise due to their quirky and fun-studded scenes, as they brought Fred and George to life with their pranks, adventures, and their love for the game of Quidditch.
Incidentally, the Phelps brothers have joined a line-up that boasts the likes of musician Troy Baker, Mexican actor Iñaki Godoy, Star Wars star Temuera Morrison, renowned voice actor Frank Welker, and voice-of-Optimus-Prime Peter Cullen among others. Well-known comic creators Mark Brooks, Stephen Segovia, Steve McNiven, and Carlo Pagulayan are also confirmed to participate.
Held in strategic partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, the 12th edition of MEFCC will also feature the usual suspects: cosplay competitions, creative workshops, a gaming area, a showcase of emerging and established artists, film previews and screenings, F&B outlets, exclusive merchandise and plenty more.
