Chef Simone Federici is back with more perfect pizza.
Antonia, Abu Dhabi’s cherished Italian restaurant, has opened “Antonia Trattoria” in Al Zeina. This new 150 sqm space is a vibrant addition to the community, adorned with refreshing mint green hues, a cosy ambience, and an eclectic interior showcasing Italian art posters and hand-painted plates carefully sourced from the Amalfi Coast.
At the helm of the restaurant’s team stands the talented Chef and founder, Simone Federici. He has meticulously curated a straightforward menu of authentic Italian dishes, crafted with high-quality ingredients. Guests can savour exciting new offerings like La Scarpetta (slow-braised Beef Ragu served with focaccia for dipping) and Mamma Mia (an aperitivo board showcasing a variety of Italian cheeses and cold cuts). Cherished classics from the Mamsha Al Saadiyat location, such as Antonia’s famous meatballs and signature specials, remain a firm fixture on the menu.
With a loyal following cultivated at its original restaurant on Saadiyat Island, Antonia Trattoria has become renowned for its Pizza Al Taglio, authentic pasta, and traditional main courses. The venue also boasts a selection of affordable Italian beverages, making it an ideal destination for casual get-togethers and special occasions.
Chef Simone Federici’s culinary journey commenced at the age of 15, inspired by his grandmother. His passion for preserving tradition while infusing creativity is evident in every facet of Antonia Trattoria. The dough for each slice of pizza is fermented for 72 hours and incorporates a piece of Nonna’s 50-year-old sourdough, resulting in a light and crispy base that captures the essence of bygone eras.
Following the opening of Antonia Trattoria in Al Zeina, a third venue will follow The Galleria Al Maryah Island.
