Ninive, celebrated for its leafy alfresco terrace and bold Levantine flavours, has unveiled its second branch at Bab Al Shams Desert Resort. Managed by the team behind Atlantis The Palm and One&Only Resorts, Ninive Bab Al Shams promises a glamorous twist on the traditional Bedouin experience, located just 45 minutes outside the bustling city.
The restaurant, adorned with ornate lanterns and regal hues, boasts a textured seating area that exudes the magic of the Middle East. Nestled amongst the dunes, guests can relish in sunset dining. The menu, a culinary mosaic with influences from Morocco, Turkey, Iraq and Iran, is complemented by an exquisite selection of beverages and shisha.

Indulge in the hot starters featuring the exquisite cheese briwat with goat cheese, walnuts, blackcurrant and parsley. Another must-try is the chicken pastilla, slow-cooked with Moroccan spices, almonds, onion and a hint of icing sugar.
For a shared dining experience, savour the slow-cooked Tashreeb, lamb shoulder served with crispy bread, Iraqi spices and chickpeas. Delight in the richness of the Couscous Royal, a flavourful blend of semolina, vegetables chicken, merguez and lamb. The mix grill is a delight, featuring lamb chops, Wagyu tenderloin, Adana kebab, king prawn skewer and saffron rice.
Ninive Bab Al Shams offers a unique cocktail experience inspired by Middle Eastern flavours. Their innovative drinks skilfully combine savoury and sweet notes, featuring diverse elements such as turmeric, fig, amaretto and cloves.
Open from 4pm until midnight Sunday to Thursday, and from 4pm until 2am on Friday and Saturday, Ninive Bab Al Shams has undoubtedly added a touch of enchantment to the resort’s dining offerings. Its exquisite terrace with a desert view creates a distinctive backdrop for memorable gatherings.
As an extra treat for desert enthusiasts, Ninive also unveiled a pop-up in Abu Dhabi’s Liwa Village. This pop-up transported the Ninive experience to the heart of the dunes.
